Frohring Library Mission Statement

The Frohring Library and John Cabot University Faculty, along with other constituents of the University community, work together to enable students to become active, critical, and lifelong learners.

To fulfill this mission, the Library will:

  • In collaboration with Faculty, develop and maintain collections pertinent to the university curriculum and appropriate to encourage the students’ personal exploration of information.

  • Provide access to a broad range of quality learning resources, either in-print or on-line, locally and worldwide.

  • Provide adequate study spaces and develop facilities that foster the collaborative nature of study and learning, as well as promote an interactive use of information resources.

  • Offer IT instruction, reference, and referral services that introduce students to the resources of the library and beyond, creating connections with other campus units (students’ organizations, academics, finance, careers, tutoring centers, counseling, computing assistance), as well as with other institutions in Rome.

  • In collaboration with Faculty, provide effective programs on research education.

  • In collaboration with library professional organizations and consortia, promote staff development, best practices and innovative services to satisfy the needs and expectations of a technologically skilled generation of users.
